My husband told me he had been 'just friends' with a woman (prior to me). I subsequently became friendly with her. We all went out together frequently but I used to notice unspoken communications between them, eye contact etc., I felt nervous and vulnerable and imagined there was attraction between them but he used to make out it was just me being paranoid. Later (much later!) I discovered they had in fact been lovers. This had the effect of making me re-evaluate other so-called 'platonic friends' and the feelings I'd had about them too. I always wondered why he ahdn't told me the truth, after all she was pre-me? I wouldn't have minded but nor would I have gotten so close to her either.

That they were going to be faithful to me and only me........and later that he hadn't cheated on me (when he really did and I sat right next to her at a party and didn't know it was her). He was my first love.

My mum told me that I had a brother but she gave him away when he was born. For months she let me believe that I could somehow find my brother, then later told me that it was a joke & that she actually had an abortion.
