  • Starting at age fifteen is never too late for anything you wish to pursue. i am not a gymnist, so answering your height question might not be accurate. here is an opinion. judging from the appearance of finalists in gymnastic competition, it appears most are shorter than your height. if i were determined that this is my destiny in life, i would pursue my dream to the very end. you will never know if you are qualified for this sport, until you try it. get yourself in shape and hit the gym. you will know your own answer, after a short workout in gymnastics. if this is your dream, do not give up. you may have to work harder and longer, but the end results will be so satisfying.
  • I started gymanstic at age 15 too .I'm one of the bests so go and give it a shot .
  • I'm going to be honest--5'8" is very tall for a gymnast. 5'5" is tall for a gymnast. But if you're just talking about high school gymnastics and you want to do it just for fun, I think you should absolutely go for it. I have never seen a gymnast close to 5'8" at the elite level, but you can perform basic and intermediate skills no matter how tall you are. As for the age issue--15 is not too old to start basic gymnastics. There are adult gymnastics classes popping up all over the nation. Have fun!
  • im 17 and about 5'9'' its not about height its more about dedication, committ to it and youll be fine. my whole life ppl said i was too tall to do gymnastics and now i do cheerleading where we have gymnastics twice a week and i love it and can do better than the short girls because i work harder for it
  • no way i am 5'10 and i started when i was 15 [now 16] and i am on of the best my teacher says but you might have to work a little because your starting late and might not be as flexable as the younger kids but if u work hard u will be! good luck
