Maybe it was just the bar of soap you bought. I'd buy another and make sure that it was teh same type you bought before--maybe you just grabbed the wrong one.
You can buy soaps and shower gels which are 'unscented'...they may be a bit harder to find but the certainly do make them, specificallt for those who have allergies. I bet with some searching you'd find one at your local supermarket or drug store...and probably around the same price as the others.
i found the same thing and i am horrified. abjectly horrified. in fact i found this page because i was trying to search to find out if they actualy DISCONTINUED the real thing. sadly, it appears taht they have. there is the "aloe" sent, and the "lavendar" scent, and then there is the scent that's i guess sort of unspecified. but there is a scent in it. what is the alternative? health food store brands at $3 a bar? pfft.
I just checked online. They have ADDED aloe and lavendar, but they also still sell unscented. You just have to look now.

You're reading I just got home from shopping, took a shower, and discovered thet they are now putting a stinky scent in Ivory soap! Yuck! Are there any brands of unscented soap that are made like Ivory soap used to be made only a few weeks ago?
Comments
I just looked at the tiny print on the package. It reads: "IVORY. Not too much and not too little. Just the right amount of lather. Just a little scent. And there you go." So it's definitely Ivory that I bought. And the package never used to say that. The scent is definitely a new "feature." I hate to throw all this soap away, so I'll make the best of it until I find another brand...

The soap package also has a 1800 number, you can call there and ask customer service about it

Call that number, PLEASE. And put it online so others who love unscented Ivory can complain!
