I think text messages are dumbing down america, one english-speaking person at a time. will the next generation even know how to spell or properly use "two", "you", or "four"?

Yes, sometimes in my school, the teachers must actually state that text language is not allowed. It is a bit sad that some actually spell the words that way.

Not just America! Everywhere else as well too. As a person who learned to text message as an adult I found it hard to use text abbreviations, but over time I have gotten used to it and use the abbreviations at times. If we all get used to using the abbreviations and they become common place people will forget over time what the proper words really are. (I hope that is not going to happen though!) :)

how far are we with our technology from not needing to write what so ever-maybe not the next generation but the one after that will have no need---just my thoughts---smile and enjoy the night-cool question
