Help answer this question below.

GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE AND WE HAVE NO KIDS TOGETHER,BUT DID PURCHASE SOME PROPERTY AND A HOUSE.I DID A QUICK CLAIM TO HER WITH THE PROPERTY. HER PROPOSEL WAS-SELL THE HOUSE,SHE KEEPS 1/2AND THE PROPERTY IS HERS.IAM I SCREWED OR WHAT?

    if the property is in my husbands name where do i stand we have only been married for 10month and have only lives at the property for 3 month

    if you live in a community property state then 1/2 is hers automatically -- regardless of who purchased the house/land.

    As for her getting more.. again depends on what state your in -- if you are in a community property state then if she' wants all the land she has to compensate you with an equale trade in something else.

    The house and property are half hers by law and always have been. Of course she keeps half of the proceeds of the sale. What did you get to keep in her proposal in return for your half of the property?

    Divorce can be very nasty - if an agreement can not be met or you think what she asks is unfair it would be time to lawyer up.
