50 miles. You have to use 4 tires at one time to get anywhere at all. After 50 miles when the 4 tires are used up, you still have 2 good tires, but your car's not going anywhere on just two tires.

If you start with four tires all at the same time, and each one is a 50 mile tire, you will only get 50 miles before they all four go out on you. With only 2 replacements, you're stuck.

You could go 300 miles on a unicycle ;-)

If you rotate the tyres with the spares every 10 miles you will be able to go a further 20 miles - so the answer is 70 miles.
