  • I think so, because I think its either your lacking to be careful with it, or it was a cheap ring in which case he can't afford another one.
  • Hmmm...I'm thinking if your bf gave you an engagement ring a few years ago, and he's not your husband yet, you might have more important things to discuss with him than the ring. I'd just go get it fixed myself.
  • Just let him know that it was lost, no need to ask for another one, I am sure he will know what to do. BTW, engagement rings, wedding rings should ALWAYS be checked about every six months to a year to be such the stone settings are in place and secure. This is recommended by good jewelers.
  • Why don't you fix it? That's what I do when I break something!
  • you can just fix it. It's not rude to tell him either. Those things happen all the time. My sister has a $75,000 ring and she's had stones fall out.
  • Usually with these type of things, they should be insured. When they are insured then you can have the diamonds replaced for free. When i bought mine, Tacori, the maker of the ring, offered it to me. Of course i took it, the guarantee that a diamond will be replaced, even general insurance should cover it, and depending on the replacement value of the ring, it should be no more than a couple hundred bucks
