  • Thank goodness everyone was alright! After health and well-being, the rest of it is just stuff. Keep in touch with them. See what they have to deal with, when no one else does. Offer to be with them, when you honestly and reasonably can. In such a big mess, maybe think about helping with insurance paperwork, finding assistance agencies, new housing, whatever "business" needs to keep rolling to take care of stuff. Or cover the children, so the parents can go freak out and deal with whatever needs to be done. It's not your job to give them everything they need, but you can certainly help them to find what they need. Best wishes!
