If someone makes a joke about something you are truly passionate about in a negative way, can you laugh at it and join the fun?

If it is truly a joke, and not offensive, yes, I can have a laugh at myself.

if that someone knows your truley passionate about it, then i would take a bit of an offense to it. if you know the joke is true, despite you pasion, laugh but to feel that you have not betrayed your passion, say "but (incert positive thing about your passion)"

Most of the time, sure. The things I'm passionate about are hard to joke about though, and when people try they are rarely tasteful : P
