I adore dogs. I've been in the company of dogs since I was a child, have been training as a dog trainer since I was twelve. I've titled many dogs in both rings. I've worked with hunting, non-sporting, terrier, and rescue. I love what dogs teach me every day. Dogs remind me to be in the here and now. Dogs forget the second I step on a foot or tail, dogs forgive when I make mistakes. I love love love and live for dogs. If I had to choose between humans and dogs, dogs would win, paws down.

daisy, she was a black toy poodle. I got her when i was in 3rd grade and she lived until i was 22...wow that's a long time. She was my buddy. I loved her so much. whenever i was sad she knew it and would run in my room and sit with me with her paw on my chest (which wasn't as prominent as it is now)

My favorite pet is my dog Charlie. His mom died two days after birth and he was raised by a bottle. I got him when he was 5 weeks old. He is now going on 10 years old. He is the most loyal dog in the world, I know it. As for his name, one of my very best friends died in a car crash a few weeks before I got him so I named him Charlie in his memory.

To answer my own question, my cat Max. He literally picked me out at the pet store. He's so much like a dog, but with the compact convenience of a cat. Drinks from the toilet, eats table scraps and follows me everywhere. When I'm sad, he nudges my hand and curls up beside my heart until I'm done crying! Love love love him!

Tough call! I've been the fortunate one in most cases. I've had horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, turtles, fish, and more. That said, the girl you see in my avatar is Lacy. Lacy died in my arms in May of this year of an apparent stroke. Lacy is dog number, oh, I'm guessing 45 or so (I lived on a working cattle ranch with up to 25 dogs at a clip.) Lacy came into my life shortly after I lost my beloved husband, and possibly saved my life. Lacy had the most amazing sense of humor you can imagine. Lacy was there, when I was going to school to become a paralegal, as a study partner, and frequently played solo games of Twister with my dear husband's record albums - much to my chagrin. Lacy opened cabinets and ate rat poison, consumed hundreds of dollars worth of lingerie, and otherwise was a very bad girl in many ways. Guess what, at the end of the day, it is Lacy I think of, Lacy I miss most. I am crying as I type this. Lacy was short for Piccadilly's Black Lace Teddy, CD (Companion Dog) and the name was kind of a follow up to her mom, Piccadilly's Victoria's Secret. Lacy's CD title was easily acquired, she certainly had the intelligence for it, and achieved it in a weekend and another - never disqualifying, but she didn't have the precision that made her a trophy winner. None the less, when I am dead and gone, I want Lacy's cremains co-mingled with mine and taken to that very green place where I sprinkled the ashes of my beloved, along with Jasmine, Benny, and Radar.

A black cat named bobby that I got from my sister when I was 14. A wild cat had a bunch of kittens under her hedge and she kept feeding them and then captured them all and I got the little black guy. It took him a long time to settle into our house and he was never very friendly. Being wild he very rarely made any sound at all. I got him at a time in my life where I really needed something to care about. I remember when we moved he stayed out all night and I was so worried I fell asleep at the kitchen table waiting for him to come home.
