If the old one is not cracked or broken and all the connecions look clean and shiny you could reuse it. But, 20 dollars is a good price to pay fro peace of mind. Just my thoughts

You should always buy the new one.

Buy the new one. It may be different or there could be things wrong with the old one that will make your new dryer not function well. Wouldn't want you to blame the dryer:-)

You want to buy a new one. If there is anything faulty with the one you have at all, the manufacturer could blame the use of old cord and refuse to fix something that is under warranty. Since most people who reuse their old cord do it themselves, there is also the excuse that it was improperly installed. You also have to remember that this cord is behind a heating source, and coated in plastic. My wife (an ex-firefighter) can tell you a few horror stories if you really want to get scared into spending a measly $20.
