My best friend, who started judo as a 50 year old mother of two, would like you to know that your mid 20's are NOT too late. She does have moments where she feels that 50 was certainly pushing the deadline...mainly when she is too sore after practice to flick the button on the coffee pot :)

It's never to late, though if I may ask, why judo?

There are many thousands of different martial arts. Only a few dozen are arts with a cut off deadline well below puberty. Almost all martial arts can be started at almost any age. For Judo, there is no "too late" age.

20s is a good time. Thats when I started. If you like contact and wrestling its the sport for you.
-
It's not too late. There are many beginner classes for adults. Enroll and enjoy yourself.
-
It's never too late. You may want to look into Aikido as well.

I started MA when I turned 31. I'll be going for my Provost (about a black belt or 1st Dan if it were an asian MA) in Longsword soon, and I think I'm younger now than when I started!
-
Go for it! It is never to late to learn.
-
If you are mugged when you are 35 you will wish you had started in your 20s
-
Not at all. However, I would recommend Akido. visit several schools and choose the one best for you.

No, judo is a great martial art (as well as many others are). A good dojo and sensei trains not only the body but also the mind and spirit.
