Why don't they make shows like "Little House on the Prairie" anymore? What happened to good old fashioned values on t.v.?

Good old fashioned values don't make money for Hollywood! The majority of the population would rather see blood, guts, violence and sexual content. That is the money-makers! I agree w/you, I would like to see more of the old kind of T.V. programs that targeted the family and good old fashioned fun!

Because 'they' say we won't watch them. So they insist on feeding us reality TV shows (which are cheaper to make) and police dramas with sex and violence and even is they do have families on a show, the kids are all smart alecs and the parents are ignorant and have way too many problems themselves to care about the kids. You cannot find values on TV anymore because people don't have them like they used to. It has to come from somewhere and those kinds of people don't write for TV anymore.

Cause now a days it the violence that brings in the big "Money" They don't want to waste time on show that have good values and morals for children Show like Little House on the Prairie and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and even others like Highway to Heaven.

It Seems today that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV. but where are those good old fashioned values on which we use to rely? Well, Lucky there's a Family Guy.

Many of the producers are cynics who doubt that people who espouse wholesome values are sincere. So the shows they produce reflect their cynicism. They neglect to note that any society that does not teach its children the values that the society as a whole accepts is doomed to fracture. I actually like the Law and Order series'. They show gently flawed characters who, nevertheless, have strong values. (not for kids mind you!)

I wonder if the "good ol' days" back in the 1950'-60's when everyone was watching all these family values shows before the sex and violence on TV. What happened? Seems to me all those "family values" TV watcher kids grew up to want sex and violence. hummmmm.....

I think in a humorous way the great tv shows with values have gotton lost in the "Baggy Pants" kids wear today!

I miss Little House, as well as the Waltons, and even Happy Days which never lost sight of having good values portrayed. Now everyting has to be edgy, and not all of life has to be edgy all the time. That edginess is what is wrong with our society now, no more civility, just rough and edgy crap that does not portray decency anymore.
