  • The majority of my jobs I would say this were true, in least in the fact that networking landed me an interview.
  • Every job I've ever had was because a family member was already working there. Gah, that makes me feel like a slacker.
  • Every job I've ever had was because of "word of mouth". Including my paper route when I was 11.
  • Thats the way I found most of my jobs as well!!
  • I have been working for 23 years and it has been on experience or qualifications
  • I became a nurse in the army and went on to specialise in Pediatrics and then Mental Health. I have been very lucky to have never had to apply for a job in my life. I get offers and I take the one that fits around my kids.
  • most definately by word of mouth and knowing people. Its a lot easier that way.
  • The best job I ever had dropped in my lap with zero effort on my part. A gal I used to work with went to another company, where she was head of Human Resources. She worked with a headhunter to hire people she needed for her company and one day he asked her in passing if she knew anyone who would be able to handle the job he outlined to her..she told him about me, he called me, I went for a couple of interviews and dropped into a honey pot! Other good jobs have come to me in similar ways. :)
