Does the word 'evil' imply intent? A friend says a falling tree killing a baby deer is an evil occurrence. I say it's tragic but not evil; without the ability to choose to do or be 'good', one cannot do or be evil, so 'evil' implies intent. Any thoughts?

Evil implies intent and malice. A tree falling on a fawn is a tragic coincidence, nothing more.

I dont believe in evil, every action has a consequence whether with a positive or a negative effect. Malice, or cold blooded isnt necessarily "evil" more or less theres a mental issue. Like a person that randomly murders with no true reason, theres a mental issue there, not evil. Hitler was doped up on many drugs, and they screwed up his mind. He was also paranoid, same with Stalin. When the mind goes so does the rationality. But I dont think any one person is truely evil
