Quite possibly. A large enough impact and it will trip pretty readily.
But at least you (in theory) got a new fuel pump out of the deal. I'd want to see that old part though. Even if they just have to pony up any old fuel pump.
I'm not mechanically adept enough to accurately answer this question. I have a suggestion though; I was referred to a great independent mechanic (my car is out of warranty) who I call even if I have a problem out of state. He can diagnose anything even when I'm out of state and telling him on the phone. A good mechanic that you can trust is worth his weight in gold!
if you knew what you was doing i would say yes but the garage just wanted your money.

i have a 98 ford escort. The alter. and battery are good. my problem is that after it runs till it gets warm, the alternator stops charging

You're reading Driving my Ford Escort LX Wagon to the airport, hit a pot Hole and the fuel cut off light came on. Car was towed and a garage said I needed to replace the fuel Pump. 275 dollars later (+ 65 dollar tow) my car is fine. Did I just need to trip the switch?
