  • and self-aware does that mean there is a "conscious entity" within another "conscious entity"? But wouldn't that suggest that the 2nd consciousness is a product of the 1st? So if that is the cas, then we are not real? What do you think? Discuss...
  • We have to have consciousness to be aware of who we are and to use our senses to create. Doesn'e mean we are not real. We are no way artifical like the Matrix movie suggest w/ computer hookups.
  • No, the Universe couldn't be conscious - it is mostly nothingness, with a few pockets of randomness mixed in between ; ) If it 'were' conscious, it would leave us as conscious beings within a conscious Universe - the situation would be no different than it currently is, since if that were the case then we have existed up until this point as conscious beings within a conscious Universe anyway; life goes on. It most likely does suggest that the second consciousness is a product of the first, but that's not necessarily the case (however, in 'this' situation it certainly is). This in no way leads to the possibility that we are not real; we must exist in some form because we are here asking the question ; ) I don't agree with Descartes on much, but 'Cogito Ergo Sum' is certainly true. To elaborate, we must be real since we are here asking the questions, but that reality might be that we are just electrical signals firing around inside the mind of an even greater being, or that we are just a figment of the Universes consciousness, or (as would seem the case), we are physical beings inhabiting a physical (and non-conscious) Universe. I think it is a non sequitur to assume that because one consciousness exists within another, the secondary consciousness must not be real. Actually, it's not even a non sequitur - it's a contradictory statement. If both consciousnesses exist, one within the other, they must be real... It's sort of circular reasoning in a way, but if we establish as our premise that both of them exist, one within the other - then the conclusion must include the fact that they both exist...
  • 2nd consciousness is not the product of the 1st conciousness rather 2nd is the part of the 1st or I dare say 2nd is 1st,This is what they call realisation.
