  • A pat on the back and a firm handshake.
  • Probably not enough. A lot of free meals, but not a lot of money.
  • Nothing - the pastor is paid by the diocese, not the congregation. Their pay is based on a combination of years of experience and educational level. They also get a housing allowance and a car allowance.
  • when you break it into $/hour...it is about $5.00
  • enough to sustain him but he does not NEED for anything..the Lord will see him through and he knows that. he is a humble, unselfish man.how about yours?
  • first of all we do not have a one pastor. we have a body of elders that together care for the needs of our congregation. this is the pattern the early christians followed. the book of acts talks of these arrangements. these elders have for the most part families. they hold down at least one job to support themselves and their households. jesus never received payment for his ministry here on earth and he said "you received free, give free." any religious leader that does not live by this creed is going against what the bible dictates.
  • Oh see...I am a christian, but this question bothers me. for starters some pastors can even feed their families...while the other (im trying to be nice) 80% line their pockets. BOTH are wrong! We need to pay our pastors....but they need to NOT pay themselves! Ok I need to shut up now...sorry.
  • Jesus said "You received free,...give free". We have no paid clergy.
  • Not a red cent. My sect has a lay clergy for the most part; only "General Authorities" (world-wide leaders) receive support from the church. All other positions are filled by lay members with their own day jobs.
  • I don't go to any church and if I did I wouldn't pay the liars or the lying liars who pay them a red cent.
