Help answer this question below.
You have to remember these girls are scared out of their minds. And most of them never got a proper education about sex, their own bodies or pregnancy from either their parents or the schools thanks to our squimishness about it and abstance only education programs. So they turn to the only resource thay have left them. Us. And with the very limited space provided for questions they have a hard time giving us details. You also have to remeber there are quite a few mothers on here who have been through what they are so we can give them the information they need. Information they're afraid to go to their parents for. As for those tests they're not 100% accurate. Especially if you don't know how to use them right. They can be very trick and touchy depending on the brand or your stage of pregnancy. We just try to help them the best we can with what we've got.
I hope not because I'm the categories expert thanks to my whimsical remarks ;D
As stated by someone on here they are more than likely scared and have no one they feel they can ask for help. Tests are not exactly brilliant, I did 2 tests and both were negative, turned out i was in fact pregnant. I saw the doctor and went for a 12 week scan, turns out i was 5 months meaning i was at least 4 when i did the pregnancy tests. Some girls are too embarassed to speak openly about these things and go to see their doctors to have a test. Come off it most men are too embarassed to buy condoms still in this day and age. Why does anyone on here "ask a bunch of strangers for advice"?
i think with todays internet world...many younger folks dont have as many real world friends.
i think its a cry for help and an anonymous way to yell...ouch
i hope they are just looking for information from experience, i mean they should really be going to the medic or a professional.
It's so easy to use Answerbag to start a dialogue with people you don't know and get confirmation/balanced advice for your questions. I also think that when you suspect you MAY be pregnant, you are obsessed... but can't talk to people openly and repeatedly about it.
Better yet... why do they ask "us" instead of taking the damn test or going to the doctor or a free clinic?
HELLO!!!
I'm not a doctor, but I'm willing to take a look!
It is very possible that they are too embarrassed to ask someone face-to-face, so they choose to use the Internet, where they can remain anonymous.
Simple: asking a stranger is cost free, while a test costs you money AND you risk parents finding out, or getting recognized at the pharmacy.

You're reading When people ask " am I pregnant" questions on AB, do they seriously think they will get an accurate answer with the limited information that most questions give? Why do people think a bunch of strangers on the net can tell them yes/no better than a test?
