That's a rather large topic now isn't it? :-)

Wow this is deep

Notice he didn't- he didn't say he wasn't good. He simply said that no one is good except God. So if this man said he was good, Jesus wanted the man to realize what he was really calling Jesus. Did he mean to do that, or was he just buttering Jesus up to get a good answer? Several times Jesus does step away from openly declaring his divinity. This is usually to avoid misunderstanding of what the Messiah was meant to do in Israel; most thought he would be a political ruler which would throw off the bonds set on them by the Romans. He wanted people to hear his message without having that preconceived notion in the way. Then, once they heard that message and they had faith in him, they did not hesitate to call him Christ, Messiah, or Son of God- something which Jesus never denied when people called him that.

No, He wanted to know what the questioner thought of Him.

Jesus did not deny his deity. He said why do you call me good. He did not say why do you call me perfect. Jesus was perfect. He had to be in order to die on the cross for everyones sins. Jesus says why do you call me good. Jesus was giving praise and all honour to God. He was acknowledging that God is good. good meaning everything that he has done for us is good. Jesus is being humble in saying that God is so much better than him. Also, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one so in saying no one is good-except God alone could be taken as the three in one thing. God alone meaning God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and that's it. nobody else is better than them. This is one of those questions that you have to ask God for understanding in the verse because it has an implicit meaning. which means you have to look and seek closely for what it really means which might take a while but through prayer he will explain it to you if it is in his will. Good luck with learning God's Word. :)

"Here, Jesus is, of course, speaking as a human being. Notice that he is addressed as "good teacher," and so responds according to what his human nature would prompt him to say. The word God, in Jesus' day and in a Jewish context, meant only Yahweh/the heavenly Father. It did not mean the Trinity, much less the Second person of the Trinity. You could rephrase this "No one is good but the Father alone." Jesus is not denying he is divine. He is denying he is the Father, or Yahweh, who in the first instance is the source of all goodness. In his divine nature, Jesus was one with the Father, but in his human nature he was distinguishable from the father and could speak in purely human terms." No, he affirmed his humanity.
-
Indirectly, He was admitting the possibility that He was God.

Jesus never claimed to be God. But, in this scripture apparently the word "Good" was being used as some sort of title. Jesus always directed worship toward his Father. And the Father will only accept worship if you first acknowledge his son as Lord.

No, Jesus did not deny His deity. Jesus' question "Why do you call me good?" to the ruler who came and called Him "Good teacher" was "Do you know who I am?" in essence and intent. Without a doubt the rich young man did not catch the implications of Jesus' reply - that the man was right in calling Him good because Jesus is truly God and truly man.
