Appropriate is a better word for it. Laws or no laws I would rather keep all the germs between the rubber gloves and my paws than worry the legality of the situation.

I dont think that it is illegal, but it is not safe... Cleaning restrooms is a dirty job, and I dont think that I would want to clean a toilet without wearing gloves... Think about it, your cleaning poop!!!:( Very unsanitary

i think this is a must if u dont want poo on ur hands because it carries loads and germ and is not nice to get on your hands so wearing household gloves is a must wen cleaning someone elses poo

Cleaning a public restroom without gloves is quite dangerous. If you have an open wound or any opening in the skin you can contact hepatitis. There was a report a while back of a cook in a restaurant who didn't wash his hands after using the washroom and nineteen customers got hepatitis. Unfortunately washrooms are a great breeding ground for germs and diseases. You are playing Russian Roulette with your health and everyone you come in contact with by not using gloves. Legality only comes into play if you infect someone else and then they can sue you or you can be brought into court.

Why would you do that? If your employer doesn't provide them (which morally and ethically he should), I would buy them yourself - they are not that expensive. It may be a health code violation - check with your local labor board.

I think at that point you would only be harming yourself so I don't think it matters to 'them'.

Laws vary world wide ... ... look it up in a law book at a local library, or consult a local lawyer ... ... gloved protection is highly recommended but may or may not be law, depending on your global location ... it is either law or union rules in some places but not in others ...

I would hope you at least wash and scrub when your done and don't touch anything personnal to other human beings. I would think getting sick comes easy to you. but seriously get some gloves or you could really damage the layers of skin on your hands from the chemicals.

Your employer should provide the gloves. If not, mention it. If there are repercussions over your comments on your safety see the regulating authority on safety in your state, and mention it. Duty of care. Employer's duty.
