What if we spent our education money actually GOING to other countries and helping them raise crops and learn ourselves along with them instead of just learning about it from a textbook in school? That would give us work experience, too.

Absolutely. A lot of 'homeschooling' cooperatives work this way. The kids learn biology, for example, on site at a pond or lake. They grow food and sell it in the community (both learning basic agriculture AND commerce). I think a lot of people learn better hands-on. -
