I was brought up to pronounce it Zed and did not know the term Zee existed until my teens.I think the USA is the only country that pronounces it Zee.

I pronounce it zee. I think some technical people pronounce it zed so it is not confused with the sounds of letter like C, P, T, E, G, B, and V.

Depends where you are. I have grown up in the US saying 'Zee', have friends from Australia who say 'Zed'.
