  • i think because it is an aquatic park, and nobody would want to go in winter lol...would you freeze to death???....lol..
  • Where I live in CA the six flags theme park here is all all year long.
  • have you ever bundeled-up trying to have fun.
  • Probably because the rides would freeze up, the hydraulic fluids would freeze solid, etc... & the rides wouldn't work correctly.
  • They have 21 parks all over the country--some are year-round, some are seasonal--roller coasters don't do well in three feet of snow !!
  • IDK what six flags you go to, but the one I go to is open all year long.
  • probably cuz they dont want their steel to freeze during rides i dont know!!!
  • its open all year long almost its only closed in winter.
  • Because most if not all the rides use hydrolics plus who want to ride a fast rollercoaster in the middle of winter with ice cold air blowing on your face?
  • I go to Six Flags America, and well, their rides have enough problems as it is. I'm sure the snow and cold wouldnt help much. Plus, can you imagine the cold wind hitting you in the face on some of those coasters? I'm sure if you travel to some place warmer theirs will be open longer, maybe all year round as some have said. :0)
  • It's also a business decision. Theme parks are very labor intensive. Granted, many, if not most only make minimum wage, but there are a lot of them and the cost of labor is huge. It's not just the people you see, there are huge maintenance costs as well. For a theme park to be profitable it needs a certain number of people coming through the gates every day, otherwise they can lose money in a real hurry. By closing for part of the year many of them can maximize the value of their seasonal labor force and as a bonus have a safe area to build new rides.
