I have seen many teen girls wearing skirts over jeans and they actually looked very cute in their outfits. Oddly, I remember when we had to wear pants under our skirts in the winter months to go to school so we wouldn't freeze to death since girls were not allowed to wear pants to school at all. (Before the invention of the wheel or fire).

I work at a junior/senior high school and this school year, as spring has begun, more and more girls are wearing skirts over jeans, khakis, and stretch pants. At least the pants make the unbelievably short skirts into a presentable outfit!

You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Well, as long as it isn't against school/work dress policy. I've seen many girls my age wearing the skirts over jeans look, so you're not the only one!

Yes, there are people that enjoy this style! I am not one of them; however, my sister is. She likes to tie African wraps (funky print on a large piece of fabric) so they look like a skirt and wears them over her jeans.

While many may say that wearing skirts over jeans is slightly silly, Wearing skirts over jeans is a very current and popular trend among teenage girls. Many large name models such as: Britney Spears or Paris Hilton are often seen wearing skirts over jeans.

Absolutely. Its a good way of getting away with wearing a dressy dress or skirt without looking overdone (or without getting cold). If you want to keep it elegant and feminine wear a jean with a slight bootflare rather than one with really wide legs (It works on teenage hippies but makes the rest of us look strangely like bag ladies..)and preferably in a colour darker than the skirt you've got over it. Keep your top the same or similar colour and avoid extravagant accesories or too many layers on your top half (it just gives the impression you've put on everything in your wardrobe to avoid carrying a suitcase). A floaty skirt in a thin fabric often looks best over jeans in my opinion. Although be warned, this is one of those fashions that guys don't seem to get (a bit like wedge heels, backless dresses and anything Sarah Jessica Parker wears) Apparently its not very sexy. But what do they know?
