  • Dunno, but I sure do love my car. Does that count?
  • oh...too late for that.. the world is nothing but materialistic... and shallow so if they don't have "life" you think many would care :/
  • I believe robots with such intelligent would reproduce themselves and eventually wipe out the entire human race. Moreover machines cant produce feelings, if they did they would be a race of humans....
  • Sure they would. It's not that much different from humans falling in love with characters they see in movies or in books. Personally, I was in love with Dr. Benton Quest, Johnny Quest's father when I was young and he is a cartoon character.
  • Near human intelligence. What is intelligence? Can something be intelligent without being concious? Can something have intelligence and conciousness without emotion? Can machines think anyway? Is this being alive? And now ask what does it mean to be alive? If we managed to create something with cognitive abilities, including all of the above and more, similar to a human being we would be creating by definition another sentient being. Would people fall in love with them? I don't see why not but would they be non-living? I don't think so, the very condition of conciousness makes something alive in my book.
