Prostitute is someone that takes money for sexual favors, from the latin word meaning "offering indiscriminate sexual intercourse." Originally taking money wasn't implied but that has become the modern meaning. Whore is an old English word for a prostitute, almost always a woman, which was used to describe both money taking prostitutes and promiscuous women. Harlot is from the Old French herlot, meaning vagabond. Often used to describe actors or travelers in general. It came to mean prostitute when it was applied to the groups of women that followed armies and made their living off the soldiers. Slut is probably related to the German schlutt and the Swedish slata, both which mean slovenly or lazy woman. In english it came to mean untidy or dirty, someone slovenly, and then evolved to mean a bold or loose woman. It has been used in that past almost affectionately, to describe a woman who is wild and fun. Currently is means a person (usually a woman) who is promiscuous, but normally not a prostitute.

A whore, prostitute, and harlot, are basically interchangeable words describing a woman who has sex with men in exchange for money. A slut is a woman who enjoys sex and views sex in much the same way men do. She is willing to have sex almost anytime and anywhere, and thinks about sex much of the time. Money is normally not exchanged for sex with a slut. She may be your neighbor, a lady at church, your best friend...and still a slut. A man who is married to a slut is blessed, indeed, for she is a warm and always willing mate...eager to bring all his fantasies to life. Men should cherish sluts and treat them like Queens.
