My ps3 was working fine yesterday but now it wont read the disc when i put the game in nothing at all comes on the screen any possibilites why this might be happening?

  Can the PS3 be adversely affected by static electric shocks? I tapped the disc ejecting touch sensor, got shocked, and it shut itself off.

  My PS3 won't power on after getting cold in car. I allowed it to warm up for 90 min, turned on main pwr, got red light, but when I switched game on light went dark. Can't get red light again - just dead. I'm guessing s/thing shorted. HELP?
