Maybe I'm missing something here but I think you should choose to study whatever you want, and that's all the expression you need. Am I being too literal?
-
Just sit your family down and explain it to them. Most people have the misconception that Wicca is evil. Explain to them so they can understand that this is VERY far from the truth.
-
I don't. My religion is my personal business, and none of their concern. Next question?
-
I just told them. Both of my parents have taken my being Pagan, and one who studies Wicca as me "Not being very religous." Which is silly, but thats how they cope. I'd rather them say that then preach to me that I am going to hell and all that.
-
Both my parents believe that Wicca revolves around Satan and the slaughter of innocent beings. They won't accept reason that Wicca is earth based and doesnt have anything to do with Satan or that all life is sacrid. They think it's completly evil.
-
My choice of beliefs are down to me.I didnt have to tell my parents lol they thought i was weird anyway :) They know my beliefs but say nothink about it they respect it :) Just tell them and explain we dont believe in the devil or satan what ever they call it :)
-
I don't. They either know (by asking questions about books or items around my house) or ignore it. My beliefs are personal and are respected by my family; as theirs are by me.

I think you might find some good ideas in the book "A Witch's 10 Commandments: Magickal Guidelines for Everyday Life," by Marian Singer. The introduction has a great section which discusses many of the values of the world's major religions and ties them in with one another and with Wicca. I'm in a similar place right now. I have a Christian mother and an Athiest father, and neither one is especially warm to the word "witch". I've told them that I've done a great deal of reading about spirituality, meditation, and herbal medicine, but I've carefully left out words like: 'witch,' 'spell,' 'ritual,' 'pagan,' etc. I let them draw their own conclusions.
-
You don't. I'm 17 and I live with my parents. If they ever find out I'm a wiccan, I'm dead.
-
Also--keep in mind--that one of the benefits of being a witch is that you don't need to tell anyone...
-
I told my mum. She doesn't really care. She lets me believe what I believe, even though she'd rather I were a Christian. I haven't told anyone else, because my family is pretty much 'Christianity is the only way!' But, eh, I let them say what they will and keep my opinions to myself...
-
tell them you you wised up .
-
You don't have to if you don't want to. Your path is sacred to you and not anyone else's business. If it would make you feel happier than do so, but I think you're the only one who can truly answer your question because you're the only one here who knows your family.
