The term, "raining cats and dogs" comes from the days when people lived in huts with thatched roofs. Small domestic animala would often crawl under the thatch to keep warm and dry. Having animals in the thatch was OK, but when it rained, the thatch would get slippery and all the animals would fall out, raining cats and dogs onto the ground around the hut. You could not step in a poodle, but you could step on one.
only if it was raining cats dogs and POODLE then you would step in a POODLE. just like if it was raining cats dogs mouse then you would step on a mouse. stay in your house and you never step in a poodle
No raining cats and dogs in simple terms just means it a heavy down-pour. Unless you reallu throw dogs and cats i doubt you will be stepping in any dogs.
No, "raining cats and dogs" is just a phrase.
