The C160 is a low-cost, entry-level camera with modest capabilities. The truth of the matter is: digital viewfinders are inferior to optical viewfinders and inexpensive digital cameras are generally the worst.

The Olympus C160, and any other entry-level digital camera, uses a low-resolution viewfinders to keep costs down. The image appears "blocky" because the resolution is not high enough to show it in more detail.
