Do dictators that are evil become evil because of the power when they are dictators or do they just decide one day that they are going to become evil?

I don't think one makes a conscious effort to become evil, nor do I think people would see themselves as such. But I do think that power can be a mighty strong accelerant.

People don't just 'decide' to become 'evil'. Some people are corrupted by power, yes. However, it is more likely that an 'evil' dictator was 'evil' before his dictatorship and even used corrupt methods to obtain his position. Also, as you may have noted by my putting quotes around 'evil', good and evil are a matter of perception. An 'evil' dictator may not be evil at all.

In my opinion, nobody decides to be evil. and I don't think they think they are evil. It depends on the environment they grew in or how they are raised.

All Dictators climb-up the political ladder begin their career showing their sincerity to serve the people and restore the glory of their motherland. When every thing go wrong in the Democracy or Kingdoms there will be a political vacuum created, at that time a Leader appears to lead them. But as the time goes by these unquestioned leaders turn into Dictators when they get intoxicated with power. But all the dictators fall when they were fed with false support by the sycophants who surround the dictator.If we go through the History we will find that all Dictators have the same story.

Someone said power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Of course, power used wisely can refine and benefit both the wielder and all whom he (or she) influences. I don't think any person becomes evil overnight, but a single decision can take us down the wrong road. Evil is a persistent low course of action.

There is no good or evil in action, only consequence. One man's freedom fighter is another's terrorist. One man's destroying dictator is another's savior king. Dictators are evil when the only thing their power is for power. I support dictators if they;re really doing what I think is best for the greatest number of people possible.

Some might say that they are really nice inside but circumstances make them what they are. That I belive is a cop out and blames everybody else why not just accept that some people are evil through and through. I can see no goodness whatsoever in Adolph Hitler or the likes!
