Help answer this question below.
I pronounce it "oiler". He was a German speaker, so the "eu" is pronounced the same as in "Deutchland". Wikipedia agrees.

I think it's You-ler. The articulation of "eu" as oil doesn't make sense to me.
The decline of the teaching of languages in American schools is one reason we do not "see" the sense in other languages and pronunciation. It is also the reason we have in part such a low regard for other citizeens of the world. Given the global focus on everything a second and third language, which is required in the rest of the world, should be required here.

This question caught my eye because I have just learned about Euler this past week in math class! I pronounce it you-ler, but my math teacher says it's oiler. lol
I was taught "oiler" as well, given that he is German.

Why do so many people incorrectly write/say "PROLLY," instead of the proper/correct "PROBABLY?" Are they lazy, or do they have a speech impediment that prevents the correct pronunciation from being used?
