  • Why do you ask?
  • In a number of places, the Bible clarifies that God has no shape, and is utterly incomparable; thus no man, idol, image, idea, or anything man made can create God and his image. According to Christian/Jewish philosophy, there is no God but the true Christian/Jewish God, and worshipping a man or an idol would be blasphemous.
  • Luke 4:8 It is Jehovah your God you must worship, Therefore it is not proper to worshp any man
  • To worship and to idolize man is most evil. And it's evil because the 1st commandment of the LORD's Law is Thou shalt have no other gods before me.(Exodus 20:3) This question about idolizing man you should read 1 Samuel 15:22-23, Galatians 5:19-21, Revelation 22:14-16 in the Holy Bible, This will answer your question.
  • No, we must worship God, but Jesus was a man, and He was God come in the flesh according to John 1:1-14 and I Timothy 3:16. God manifest Himself in the flesh as the Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, thus, when we worship Him, even though He is a man, we are not worshipping Him as man, but as God. Christ had two natures. He was 100% God, and 100% Man. We worship Him as God and beleive that He became man, born of a virgin, and shed His holy and perfect blood on the cross of Calvary for our sins and rose again from the dead three days later. The Bible tells us in Colossians 2:9 about the Lord Jesus Christ: "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.". Jesus was God come in the flesh. Therefore worshipping Him would not be idolatry, but by worshipping Jesus we worship Jehovah Himself, and Him alone, and Jesus Christ is the only answer to the world's problems and the only Way to Heaven. I hope that this helps. :) Thank you and may God bless you. :) -In Jesus' Name.
  • it is shown in scripture of what God did to those who worshipped idols, even the Israelites...Moses came down and in the short time he was getting 10 Commandments, Israel was worshipping IDOLS made by his brother Aaron, no less...Moses was so angry he broke the tablets and had to do it again....God is a Jealous God....Worship HIM only.....the Israelites were not supposed to live or associate or intermarry with idol worshippers......Look what happened to Solomon with the women who worshipped idols....no man or woman, human is to be worshipped or idolized...... it is definitely in the scriptures but it is not Scriptural....
  • Just think about the name of a popular show "American Idol". It can't be good because God hates idols.
  • Why worship man? Dust you are and dust you shall return. Worship God.
  • Whether it is "scriptural" or not? Well, everyone twists "scripture" this way and that to make it mean what they want it to mean. The point is that to say Jesus Christ is God is problematic. Does that not make an idol out of Jesus? Does that not take this most important religious symbol, that can point us to the Holy, and demonize it, making the symbol itself holy. The theologian Paul Tillich has sorted all this out so clearly. Why does no one read his essays? Part II: Symbols of Faith in the book, The Essential Tillich, may be a good place to start.
