  • Coincidently, I watched it yesturday on a 2d theater, (not 3d). I haven't read the book...but somehow...I bet the book is better.
  • Movies are often stripped down versions of the books and I like details so i'd say the books are always better...i've read the book but i've yet to see the movie but it looks good..the book it probably better though
  • Yes and yes... I think the movie did a fine job portraying this epic in a synopsis-style movie, maintaining the same gore as is in the text; the book was very difficult for me to follow in high school, so I think the movie has the edge this time :)
  • I recently watched the Icelandic version of Beowulf with my friends (who saw the Angelina Jolie version and has read the book). They decided the the Icelandic Beowulf and Grendel is more accurate.
  • they were both good but i followed the movie a lot better than the book since the book was written quite awhile ago it was like in old literature so it was hard to follow.
