How do you keep your house clean enough for a newborn or toddler to crawl around if you have multiple cats or dogs? Any tips?

Vacuum on a very regular basis (at least 3 times a week) and make sure that you are keeping your pets clean. Invest in a steam cleaner and clean your carpets once a month or so. Also make sure that you are cleaning the litter box at least once a day (you don't want stuff tracked through your house, even though you can't see it, it's there) and always wipe your dog's feet when they come inside if it's wet. I have a very large dog and 2 cats and my house is cleaner than most people who don't have pets at all, you just have to work a bit harder.
