  by the way, the main speaker on our national news is a beautiful gypsi. and i have nothing against your people. BUT everyone makes his own life. they have the same chanses as all people to make something of their lives, if they dont do it, thats their own fault! we offer education and provided they have education, work. i dont know what the point of your answer is.

• Computer game? No... just that from all of the reports out of Bulgaria it is not too nice there for Rromani aka "Gypsies" and I have faced online Bulgarian bigots.

  Not all Bulgarians are bigots, nor are all of any group or nationality. There is just much hatred of us in Eastern Europe. That is why I was born in Canada... my parents wanted to give me a chance.

  I heard that there is also some Gypsy politician in Bulgaria who is also a pop star... a very odd bloke. I cannot remember his name. I saw some of his writings and he seemed highly intelligent. Would you know the name of this guy?

• not quite sure if you maybe mean a gay pop singer called "Azis"... i dont know if he is a Rromani... but i cant imagine it being someone else, seeing as you calling him an "odd bloke" :P
  
  as for his intelligence, im far too far away from politicians in bulgaria, as i havent actually lived there for more than 7 years now. (currently living in germany). furthermore, he sings a music which is called "Chalga" in bulgaria, which I very much dislike. (which is also very popular among bulgarians)

• That is him and he is Rromani. I saw him over at a White Supremacist board to debate with those slime (I was doing the same) and he was kicking ass (I was doing pretty good myself ;) ). He also is a champion for Rromani rights and trying to make it far enough into politics to actually make a difference. Considering his pop persona and being Rroma, that is going to be one HELL of a task.

  I have heard his music and I detest it. Chalga and Manele (in Romania) give me hives. Both of them are awfully popular, emphasis on "awful". To my great shame, most Manele "musicians" are Rromani *cringe*

  and as for chalga, yep. way too popular. but hey, everyone how he wants it. cant judge people, by their taste of music. (although i often notice myself doing exactly that, but im only human too. everyone has their prejudices...)

• The song I have up is a Hungarian Rromani song. I have Rromani songs from all over the world, from traditional to punk, from recorded in the 60's to today. I have one recorded in the 1930's I have field recordings. Feel free to poke abouts on the player. Just shut off one before going to the other. I did not pay for massive bandwidth for nothing.

  If it is like Menele, it is akin to our rap because it supports violence, disregard for women, and criminality. I do not know if either Menele or Chalga actually do, but that is what I have been told.

  We cannot get away from our likes and dislikes. I do not see you, so far, as acting prejudiced in any way. You do not like Chalga but you state that you do not judge because of it.

• Blagoevgrad. He misses it. We're going to be moving to Chicago pretty soon, and I think it will help because it has the largest Bulgarian community of any other US city. (I would attempt to write this IN Bulgarian, but I can't write very well yet.) :)

• ALL of it... here in germany (munich) there is not much to do, compared with there... my neighbors' lights are all out at 22:00... thats when life starts for me... (and lots of other bulgarians, too!)
  
  but i go there every year in the summertime, so i keep in touch with old friends, and most importantly, family.

• Vasco misses everything too. He talks about the coffee shops and nightlife all the time! I haven't been over there YET, but we plan to be living there in the next 1 1/2-2years, and we'll have to go out before then. It's very important to me to experience it, and understand where he came from. Vasco keeps in touch with his friends, and we've had a few visitors. I met his immediate family when they came for the wedding. My Bulgarian has (fortunately) gotten better since then, and I can't wait to show it off. :)

• wow, thats great! whereabout do you plan on living? are you aware of the consequences that come with moving to a totally different country? i love my country, and if i had a choice, i wouldnt hesitate and move back. still, there are lots of problems to be solved over there... (corruption, unemployment, low wages...)
  
  i would advise you to plan financial stuff, before going there! (but then again, i guess you would have done that anyway :P )
  
  when did you get married? are you learning the language only by speaking to vasil?

• We'd be going to Blagoevgrad, where his family is. Of course, I do recognize there's a lot to think about when thinking of living abroad... It wouldn't be permanent, maybe for a year or two. We were married in '06, and yes, I learned primarily from only speaking to Vasco. (Which is why I can't write very well.) I've been complemented a few times by native Bulgarians, so I guess I'm not doing too poorly. He's told me a lot about the corruption. When a cop over here tried to pull him over (first and only time in the States) he asked if he should keep going or if it was OK to stop. There are so many differences, it's unbelievable... Which is why I want to go. :) Any words of wisdom?

• hmm, im not really 100% familiar with the REAL life in the states (not the bull we get from the media) so i cant really tell what will be different, and what will stay the same. you will notice that lots of things are very much cheaper,but others (based on the local life-standart) rediculously expensive.
  overall, everydaylife should get more interesting and the people friendlier. you will also notice, thet even though the people are pretty poor, they stil dont save money on all ends and have fun and enjoy their lives, by going out and other things. you will also notice, that alot more alkohol is drunk, then in the usa. (and that bulgarians can take lots of vodka, or rakia, as they KNOW how to drink, without making fools of themselves.)
  you should also be ready for lots of salad, as in bulgaria, if friends sit on a table, there are 2 important things that always have to be put on it: some sort of alcohol and salad!
  most of this, you probably know from vasko, so itprobably wasnt new..
