I think of great folklore stories, great colorful costumes from their past, the alphabet and great weightlifters. I also think about one of the loveliest names for a city, Sofia.

The first words I learnt to say in Bulgarian, 5 years ago, when I started studying your language and getting to know your country. Since then, many happy memories.

As ignorant as this may seem... I would have to be completely honest and say Bulgar wheat... Because I know absolutely nothing about Bulgaria.

Sorry... but I will make a point of googling it now and learning at least something just because I SHOULD know at least something about it shouldn't I?

Brave men and beautiful women inhabiting the most precious place on the earth - the lands between Black Sea, Donau river and the Rila, Pirin, Rhodopes and Stara planina mountains. Great warriors in the ancient times and ready to give their blood to defend their lands and principles. Bulgaria exists since 681 and is the only country in the whole world which has never changed its name since its establishment.
