Help answer this question below.

I've tried to install QuickTime and iTunes but my computer says it can't run them because some files are missing. I've tried to reinstall the programs but they still won't work. What could be wrong?

or you could hit filehippo.com and download quicktime alternative and leave out the spyware and adware that comes with real player, itunes and the like

You might want to check out the information and instructions on this site if all else fails:

Title: How To Completely Uninstall and Remove All Traces of iTunes
(You can Google it as well and find it)

This software helped me completely get rid of iTunes and all latent registry entries so I could then load a fresh copy. I was going nuts trying to completely uninstall it until I found this. You will be pulling your hair out of your head unless you do a thorough removal as described at the referenced posted article. The link to the software is there too !! :)

I can not run, uninstall, or install iTunes 9. I get an error message that says "There was an error creating a temporary file that is needed to complete this installation", "Fatal Error" when I try. I have tried disabling my anti-virus software, and restarting my computer, but nothing has worked. Windows stopped working for me all together earlier today when I downloaded iTunes 9, and clicked the "restart now" option. Fortunately, it repaired itself. I'm just glad my entire computer didn't crash. Any info about how to get my iTunes running again would be soooo greatly appreciated. :o(

I've usually found that uninstalling the existing program, then reinstalling, and make sure that those requested files are in the right places, usually works. Of course, you might have a virus and have to reboot. You might ask a general question on a search engine about the missing files?

Before attempting once again to re-Install.
Use Start/Control Panel/Install-Remove Programs to de-Install the current files.

Try that and post comment on results.

You can try looking for an un-install in your add/remove programs first. Then try to make sure to remove the related folders in the "Program Files" folder, then reinstall the software, also make sure you have the proper read/write privileges (you need to have admin rights)
