think things through thoroughly before you act!!

If you do things impulsively before you have thought them out, you will make more mistakes. If you can slow down a bit, and try to envision what the outcome/result will be of any given action on your part, that might help. The ability to foresee consequences of one's actions is essential to growing up and becoming a productive human being. There are many adults who have never figured that out, and they are ones who keep exhibiting the same bad behavior over and over...so they keep making the same mistakes over and over.

I usually try to think of the worst possible outcome for what I'm about to do. Depending on what you come up with, go from there. I know that sounds rather pessimistic, but it helps you focus on the 'what if' if you're continually making mistakes. You'll get better and quicker at it.

It's the toughest thing, to overcome your personal flaws, and greatly rewarding when you finally do it. Your guilt is helping you by causing you to reflect on your errors. Since I don't know the details of your particular sin. I can't aid you with tips on over coming it. But know this is an old problem experienced by all. In the Holy Scriptures it is written, "As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly." - Proverbs 26:11
