  • Not the holiday itself so to speak but any religious symbolism associated with said holiday. Personally I am getting just about sick and tired of my rights being trampled on in the intrests of not offending those who are not christian. I personally have just about had it up to my eyeballs with asshole local state and federal politicians who are determined to take all references to God and Christ out of holiday displays our schools our courts and elsewherein the interest of protecting those who are either not christian or who don't believe in God. It is time all God fearing Christians stand up to the bullies in our local state and federal governments and let them know we are not going to stand for God being legisl;ated out of existance.
  • I wouldn't think. Its a national holiday. banks close, the mail doesn't run. I guess they could refuse to put those decorations up on the poles, but I hardly see how they could keep you from decorating your house..
  • ... laws vary world wide, so officially it is possible, especially in places like China or in Muslim nations, where Christianity has only a minor influence if any, but people could still secretly or privately celebrate it, regardless of how their government regulates it. Here in Canada, city councils have the right to decide if a holiday will get any funding for official recognition ... things like city street decorations, Santa Parade, etc., but the holiday itself has been set by the federal government and cities can not alter that.
