It should absolutely be legal for consumption by adults over the age of 18 and for medical purposes.

All the recent studies that I have seen show that marijuana is no more harmful than alcohol or tobacco. Many of the studies even go so far as to say that it is safer. In light of these studies, it makes no sense that it should be illegal. Legalize it, regulate it, and (heaven help me for suggesting this) tax it. A controlled substance is always more preferable than one that is uncontrolled and might be contaminated.

I am an avid smoker and truly believe it helps me in all aspects of my life. It does not make me uninhibited or stupid, on the contrary, my reflexes are better as well as my studying abilities. I waitress in a bar, and every night I am more and more amazed as to the effects of alcohol. People's characters completely change; it is astonishing. I should bring a camera to work and parties and take photographs of the fights, orgies, stumbling, and so forth that people are more susceptible to while under the influence of alcohol, and send them to the government, labeled "Legalize Pot!".

I think it should be legal and available for medical use. Its helped me maintain a good healthy weight...and i have worked with many cancer and hiv patients who have found great relief using it.

I "equate" them as all being the same & believe they are all "choices", as well as possible addictions. I do believe marijuana *needs* to be legalized, taxed and something very specific and positive should be done with the taxes placed upon it.

Personally for me, it carries a stigma. I lived my life without it and have done just fine.
