I'm gonna take door number two and go with the Nazis. Communists are not evil, but too idealistic for my tastes. And I don't know enough about Islam to judge the Jihadists.
-
Evil is evil. I don't think I could (or should) rate these groups against each other.
-
They are all evil. I would have to say the devil is the worst of all evil.
-
You would have to debate on what is evil. There is no doubt that they are evil, but is the 'greatest' evil the group who kills the most, delutes the most minds, ect.? The problem here is that any 'evil' group will always 'raise the bar' so long as they're able to. If everyone suddenly went mad and donated their life savings to one of these 'evil groups', then I'm sure the evil group will use every penny in making the world a worse place.

I can see where all of these fall under The Empire of Evil. Islamic Jihadists have roughly claimed 270 million lives. Of this number I believe that Christians were just as responsible for the 120 million Africans who perished in the slave trade run by Islamists. http://www.educateusa.com/Tears%20Of%20Jihad.htm Many of the statistics for Jihad deaths are not very reliable because of the age of the statistics and the time of the invasions. The Black Book of Communism estimates a death toll of 94 million which occured in only one century as compared to about 1,000 years of Jihad. Nazis killed 6 million in just a few years. Idi Amin killed 800,000 (300,000 of those in 100 days). I've tried to come up with a total killed by Christians but I think a lot of the statistics overlap with those of Islam. For instance The Crusades were a defensive war fought at the request of the Byzantine emperor to defend his people from Islamic genocide. The Spanish Inquistion accounts for about 3000 deaths if you go with the high number. I have found references that about 1.5 million pagans were killed in the name of God, however it's not specified whether the Christian God or the God of Islam. I have found numerous happenings of Christians being apologetic for the murders done in the name of Christianity. I have not come across any references to Muslims being apologetic for killing in the name of Allah. Not saying they aren't sorry, just haven't seen or heard it. Nazis are just so nasty and horrid but they don't pretend to care about any group that they despise. Communism under Stalin was probably mild compared to what Marx envisioned.

Demonizing someone or something won't make you a good person. It doesn't work that way. Anyway, answering your question would entail comparing apples to oranges. Communism is a political philosophy. The other two are more about the personalities of single individuals: Adolf Hitler's idealism was the driving force behind the Holocaust, and Osama Bin Laden is a nihilist who merely uses Islam as a platform to achieve his objectives.

It depends on what you mean. The communist ideas (although unrealistic and would never work) were generally good. They asked for all people to work to their fullest potential, and if you couldn't then everybody else would give you stuff and keep you going. They also would all get the same paycheck and same basic lifestyle so that it would all be fair. This might sound good but it won't work because you can't give a brain surgeon and a trash man the same salary and call it fair. The reason it became evil is because not everybody wanted to be communist. The communist Government didn't like this so they would kill or force you to be communist. As for the Nazis or the followers of fascism they too had good ideas (not including the holocaust which wasn't even a fascist idea, it was Hitler's idea.) They were fairly close to communism except thier market wasn't completely run by the government, it was split half and half by the people and the government. The reason Fascism became evil was because it was adopted by the Nazis, who at first weren't evil. When Hitler came to power he realized that if he blamed the Jews for the depression then he could get the population to support him. He realized as long as the Jews weree taking all the blame he could do whatever he wanted. The Islamic Jihadists are the same in a sense as the last two. the religion of Islam is a very peaceful religion with many ties to Christianity. In fact both Islam and Christianity both see Jesus as a Prophet. But as many Islamic leaders realized that they could manipulate the population with religion then they could get what they wanted. They would lie to people and tell that their religion wanted them to kill anybody that didn't believe in what they believed. So as it comes down to it none of these ideas or ways of life are actually "evil". It is just that all ideas need leaders or people who will organize the idea. This is were the evil is started. If you have ever heard the saying "Power Corrupts" then you will know exactly what I am talking about. When you let one man or group of people have that much power or enough power to run millions of peoples lives then it becomes very dangerous. And that is what happened Nazis/Fascism-Hitler. Communism-Stalin/Future Communist Leaders. Islamic Jihadists-Leaders such as Saddam or Osama bin Laden. Now if I had to choose which idea or way of life caused the most damage then I would say Communism. Nazis are done and can't do much more damage. Islamic Jihadists although still at large don't seem to be powerful enough to do much more damage such as millions of people dying /nuclear warfare(although Iran might have a chance)/ or mass death camps. But as for communism it has so far claimed more lives then any of the others. It is also not finished. China is the 2nd/3rd (Russia still could be stronger mainly because of technology) strongest country out there and is growing fast. This could be a major threat to all of man kind. So what you have to look at is that, these ideas are not bad, they might not work but they are not evil. It is just when you let man have to much power because of the ideas, then and only then, can they be portrayed as evil.

How are the Communists evil?

None of the above. George Bush & his dumb foreign policies beat them all. My 2 cents.
