I usually say something like "They sure have a lot of energy, don't they?" in sympathy to an exhausted parent. I've been there - no matter how good a parent one is, there are just those times when kids aren't going to be perfect, and it's usually when they have been taxed beyond their abilities to cope. They're overtired, overstimulated, etc.

I've done it several times. I think the last time was when some little boy was pulling my daughter's beads and I picked him up, found his parent (we were at a park) and politely asked her to keep her eye on him because he was yanking my daughter's hair.

I have, but it is a more, "oh I hate those days and I can relate". I have a 3 and 4 year old... it isn't always a pretty sun shining day!
