Why does it seem like those with the most personal issues are always those who claim to be very religious?

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, .., puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power.” II Timothy 3-1-3 Yes many have a “religious air” about them, they have “a form of godly devotion”, but they are not really applying what the Bible says in their lives.

cause what the religious people believe is that as long as they are religious and "right" with God they don't have to worry about their issues thus creating more problems. either that or i just missed the concept of this question and i don't know what im talking about.
