Yes there is always a chance of violence or rape in jails. However I would suggest that your son is safer in a county jail rather than in a state or federal pen. County is generally a lot safer than state or federal.

Prison is a violent place. County is probably safer than a big penitentiary. I will say a prayer for you and your son.

county and city jails usually not much there to worry about. most have cameras and guards present to keep violence down. Fights sometimes break out but are usually taken care of pretty fast. The biggest problem of this sort is in prisons not jail houses.

Well, did everything go okay. Did you find out from you son how he is doing? Was he framed? There are many innocent people incarcerated.

county jail is the holiday inn... he should be fine if he keeps to himself and stays neutral. federal prisons on the other hand are where criminals go to get raped...

There is a real danger of being attacked, beaten, and raped, in an urban high school. ... and in a Wall-Mart parking lot. ... and just about anywhere. A county jail is certainly not a safer then those places.

I know how you feel, I have a loved one in jail right now. Prison is where the really bad stuff happens.....a small jail in Oregon sounds pretty safe. But hopefully it scared him enough to keep him of prison, eh?
