  • I did that 4 years ago! Don't know that I've become someone else as much as I've become myself! Are you thinking of doing it yourself?
  • +. Made me think. Hmm. I guess I would. Probably not to stay there permanently. But Just to have the experience to have so much space and get to know everyone so quick. Not to become someone else though. Just something new to try.
  • Yes! A lot of times, actually. Somewhere in the nation where NO ONE knows who you are. Start fresh, enjoy the country. It doesn't even have to the country area, I'd love to start fresh anywhere. But, yes, I do share your strong desire.
  • Not really. Because I have found in life that wherever you go, there you are. There is no such thing as becoming someone else, and time certainly never stands still.
  • No, but I have wanted to just forget it all, buy a hot dog stand, and park myself in front of a hardware store someplace. It'd be great if my biggest worry was, like, running out of ketchup.
  • No thankyou I have done the small town thing. Now I want to go back and get lost in the big city.
  • I don't think you can ever become somebody else but when I had the strong desire to move to a small village in the back of beyond I did it.
  • Honestly, I have thought of doing something like that. Picking up and moving somewhere that doesn't ask too many questions, isn't really a huge town, and is safe / calm. Then I snap back to reality and realize that I love my life and everything in it.
  • YES!! I would just like to pack up and move my family to a new place where no one knows us and we would have to be so independant. But that will never happen - can't get my husband away from his family
  • I'm already there, and believe me, it's just boring, with very little opportunity. Oh, and everyone will know who you are in a small town, quickly.
  • nope never again will I do that I learned my lesson. Few years ago (8)I move from San Antonio Texas, to a place called Ravannah Missouri pop 65.I lived there for 8 months, I hated it,then I moved to Trenton pop 5000, hated it,then st Joe pop 80,000, hated it, now I live in Kansas city...this is more like it.
  • Yeah, especially the packing up and moving part. I kind of just did that last week. I still don't know where I'm going. I think that, in my case, I'm going to end up going to a larger city.
  • I've already done that. Seems to be working just fine.
  • Yeah. I would. For a while. But, it would get boring really fast for me. Become someone else? I don't know about that part. It takes a lot of energy to keep up a facade.
  • Allot of time I wood love to live in Ireland or New Zealand
  • YES!!! And I am happy to tell you that it was the best decision that I ever had, I moved -way before my time to retire- to your 'tiny town in the middle of nowhere where time stands still' but in the Caribbean -town which I prefer to keep anonymous- which has a beautiful sky full of stars, a great mountain weather and the prettiest gals and guys around that welcome you with such a force that makes you feel 20 years younger, and I WILL NEVER LEAVE! I invite you to read my questions which are a lot like this one :-) I am sending you a photo of just 3 days ago from my computer room, I wish my Nikon could capture as well the smell and the glorious wind that comes from those mountains!
  • Many times. I wish I could go somewhere and just start a whole new life but I know I will bring too much baggage with me. I have a love hate relationship with where I live. There are 3 other places I would rather live but cannot afford to live or go to any of them.
