  • For me it's something that religious people invented to make people afraid and have them under control, i think theres no need for the concept of sin thats why i dont believe in it.
  • Me not being in harmony with myself.
  • That I willingly disobeyed God, while I had a choice in the matter; I decided not to do that which I should. While we are it, one can not sin accidently, its done by choice… Equivalent to above, while I was an atheist, "sin" would be against my consciences, though I would not regarded as a sin at that time because I did not believe in God. To sin, one must know God.
  • Seperation from God.
  • Sin is disobedience to the law of God (1 John 3:4). God's law is love (Deuteronomy 6). Therefore sin is when we do things that are not motivated by love.

  • sin means wrong doing. It only has a religious connotation, but it is not religious.
  • A sin is something that should not be done by anyone. However, the concept of what you should and should not do is different for everyone. It is also the main antagonist in Final Fantasy X, but I'm sure that's not what you meant.
  • Pretty much Dick Cheney doing anything at all.
  • According to my priest, a sin needs three conditions: The act it's self, The knowledge that what you are doing is wrong, and the decision to do it anyway. If one of those conditions are not present then it is not a sin against God. If your neighbor's dog is always barking and you see it in the road in front of your car, and you hit it on purpose in order to hurt your neighbor, it is a sin. If you didn't see the dog it was an accident and not a sin. If you meant to hit the dog, but missed, technically that was not a sin. I can't think of an example on how someone might not know that killing a dog is wrong, but you get the point.
  • Sin is disobedience, rebellion against God. It is falling short of perfection. Sin is egoism. It is the "I" in the middle (sIn), instead of God in the middle.
