  • The location of the "third heaven" is unknown. The only place the "third heaven" is directly mentioned is in II Corinthians 12:2-4, where Paul writes about himself (in the third person) and equates the "third heaven" with Paradise: "I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such a one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth): how that he was caught up into Paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." So wherever Paradise is located, that is where the "third heaven" is located. The only things scripture reveals about Paradise are: 1. That it is the place Jesus went to when He died on the cross; the same place He promised to the thief on the cross. (Luke 23:43) 2. To the church of Ephesus, Jesus revealed that the Tree of Life is in the midst of Paradise. (Revelations 2:7) 3. The term "Abraham's Bosom" was a known rabbinical phrase, which was the same as saying "with Abraham in Paradise". This is found in scripture regarding the rich man who lived sumptuously and neglected the poor beggar Lazarus who laid daily at the gate of his estate. Lazarus died and was carried to "Abraham's Bosom" (paradise) by the angels. The rich man died, lifted up his eyes while tormented in hell and beheld Lazarus there with Abraham. (Luke 16:22-24) Paradise is considered a temporary abode for the departed righteous, just as hell is a temporary abode for the unrighteous. Scripture teaches that hell will deliver its dead to the great White Throne Judgment seat of Jesus Christ, and that death and hell will one day be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:13-14). Many have held throughout history that Paradise is thus a temporary resting place for the righteous. However, scripture does not say this directly about Paradise; it is merely a conclusion based on parallel logic and the fact that in the New Heaven and New Earth, there is the New Jerusalem as well as descriptions of an eternal place for the righteous that bears little resemblance to what is known about Paradise (except for the Tree of Life - Revelation 22:2).
  • I would have to estimate that it would be right after the second one.
  • At 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 the apostle Paul describes one who was “caught away . . . to the third heaven” and “into paradise.” Since there is no mention in the Scriptures of any other person having had such an experience, it seems likely that this was the apostle’s own experience. Whereas some have endeavored to relate Paul’s reference to the third heaven to the early rabbinic view that there were stages of heaven, even a total of “seven heavens,” this view finds no support in the Scriptures. As we have seen, the heavens are not referred to specifically as if divided into platforms or stages, but, rather, the context must be relied upon to determine whether reference is to the heavens within earth’s atmospheric expanse, the heavens of outer space, the spiritual heavens, or something else. It therefore appears that the reference to “the third heaven” indicates the superlative degree of the rapture in which this vision was seen. Note the way words and expressions are repeated three times at Isaiah 6:3; Ezekiel 21:27; John 21:15-17; Revelation 4:8, evidently for the purpose of expressing an intensification of the quality or idea.
  • God is great; I'm sure we can agree on this fact. If not, bare with me for a moment. With him being so great we can all agree that God can count. The first heaven and the first earth were passed away, according to the Bible. Do we agree? And we can say that third heaven was a place. A human can say he was there in this place. He could even describe this place. We talk about the first and the third heavens to no end. Let us focus, for a moment, on the second heaven. Where is the second heaven? Now let us go back to the first sentence, God is great; God can count (1,2,3) Where is the second heaven?
  • First Heaven is Earth, the core of the Onion. Second Heaven is everything in between, sky, space, etc. This is were satan and his band of debunked angels are supposed to be, hence ,the prince of the air. Third Heaven is were the Lord with his son reside. Just beyond the Nothern Star. Peace.
  • The 'first Heaven' is the abode of the birds and the clouds. The 'second Heaven' is the abode of the stars and planets. The 'third Heaven' is the abode of God and the souls of the redeemed.
  • The term "heaven" is used in Scripture in three ways: + The atmospheric realm of the birds + The stellar realm of the the sun, moon, and stars + The supernatural realm of God When Paul refers to being in "the third heaven" (2 Cor. 12:4), he is probably referring to the supernatural realm of God. But he may be referring to a "level" within the supernatural realm of God. Christian piety has often speculated on the existence of different levels within the supernatural heaven (for example, "seventh heaven"). With love in Christ.
  • On the Third level (heaven's elevator button) ?
