Help answer this question below.
Usually mute. Rarely pay attention.
I record/pause live television on my computer. And fast forward through the commercials.
I watch the fun ones, but as a rule I get up and do something else while they are on.
Some ads are as entertaining as the programs I'm watching. It's a pretty small percentage though. If I'm not entertained, I flip through the other channels. The advertisers really need to give more thought to how they are spending/wasting their advertisement dollars, if they want my attention for their products.
Mostly ignore, but there's one I mute because it sends the blood pounding directly to my forehead, directly to my forehead, directly to my forehead!
The mute button on my tv changer is a wonderful thing.
Most things I watch are prerecorded, so I just fast-forward through the ads. When watching live TV, I'll generally turn the volume down. Even if, ads don't affect me on a consumer level, but I can admire them for their creativity.
A DVR = no more commercials ever! Yayyy! ;-)
If I'm watching a program on t.v. I usually mute the commercials or change channels if I'm keeping up with a game or something. If I've recorded a program I fast-forward through them completely.
The moment the ads start me and my husband start talking. We sometimes mute but most of the time we igore it or laugh at it.
I just laugh threw them while trying to find out which of them had the lowest budget
Usually mute
Ignore or mute them
I'm a channel flipper. I watch two shows at once ......
usually.
commericials are for bathroom breaks, kissing a s/o or grabbing another dt mt dew. +5
Depends on the ad.
Some I do, and some I don't.
I usually watch them instead of the show, especially if their for things like feed the children, or drunk driving commercials...OK I just realized how strange I am....its not that I like them they just 'move' me.
I usually mute them unless its during the SuperBowl then I watch them.
Thanks to a DVR I try not to even watch ads. Side note. What happen to Super Bowl ads? They actually used to be worth watching. Now they are just regular ads aired during the game. Disappointing.
We got rid of cable, and live too far out in the mountains to get anything with an antenna.
First thing i do is change the channel till that ads finished :)
also, 99 % of that ads selling expired items and fake.....
thanks
I tend to pretty much ignore them.
I only pay attention to T.V. advertizing if it's the Superbowl and ignore or mute the game.
I prefer to fast forward over them
I will watch a few and think how stupid.
No T.V., no ads.
I watch TV mostly for the ads. I like to analyze them. Watch the ad carefully, try to figure out things like, who is the target audience? What class of people is this ad going to appeal to the most? Who are the people most likely to respond? In so doing, you can get creative for your own ads and get more results with less money invested.
Mute them for the most part, or just dont pay attention to them.
The TV ads have gotten so clever that I find I enjoy them as much as the actual shows. Some are irritating, but the really good ones are worth wading through the garbage. I do tend to reduce the volume as they are usually louder than the shows.
i love adverts, but some are awful and unwatchable!!
some ads are good to watch and some are soo adult in nature that we cannot watch it with family. So i thik the best way is to see ads in some famous classifieds websites like http://craigslist.com, http://www.hindlist.com , http://www.kijiji.com
I ignore most of them because they all seem like they only make sense to the idiot who created them, or they're just stupid.
infomercials are engaging because they're more professionally produced
i hate the stupid hawk shop commercial
i mute them ha!
well i don't know..
i sometimes pay attention, just because. And sometimes my mind wonders off during ads
Usually I just ignore them.
Ignore, change channel... i don't know how people can find entertainment in being manipulated.
Nope...that is intermission for me....bathroom and refill the beer time...;)
I ignore, mute and/or pause then fast forward past them. In my opinion most commercials are geared to the same pathetic part of our society that worships Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and the other celebrities that seem to dictate how to live your life. And while on the subject of TV what the heck is Oprah's talent anyway? I still can't figure it out.
I mute them
I pretty much ignore them. They rely on impulse buying. You see it, you think "wow, got to have it" and you run out and spend precious money on something that doesn't deliver.
I do pay attention to ads since i am taking a marketing communications course. but when i've already evaluated them, i already switch to other channels or just ignore them especially if the ad is not really entertaining...
I simply click the button to see another channel. Quite frankly, TV ads are a bit idiots. Why?
They are a passive advertising method and 100% untargeted. Just my opinion...
PAYING ATTENTION IS ALREADY TOO EXPENSIVE
If the ads come on I switch channels and then go back again after they are done.
Mute or fast forward recorded ones.
Most of the time I will watch them since I am a student of Media Literacy. However, If I am watching BRAVO TV, then I tend to ignore them since you see the same ads 4x an hour.

This is an outrageous answer: I know that Prince Hal spent a lifetime in the advertising business and produced commercials for major advertisers and marketers. I can't believe that he mutes ads.
