  • no, you only have to report felonies.
  • It depends upon how the phrase it on the application. If the ask if you've ever been convicted of a misdemenor or blah, blah....
  • That is dependant on the wording of the application form. Some ask for convictions misdemenors or felonies. Others ask if you have ever been arrested. It is a sackable offence if you do not reply with honesty
  • Here's something few ever consider: When you get arrested for whatever reason, that arrest stays on your record! It doesn't matter if later the charges are dropped or if it comes to court you're found not guilty. The arrest record stays unless you can get the courts to "exponge"it from your records so that it's totally gone from your record. Some employers ask "have you ever been ARRESTED?" Not have you been convicted of a crime. I would suggest to your friend that he do everything to get the arrest taken off of his personal files because depending on the company he's applying to for work, it will have an affect on his getting that job.
  • Most job applications ask if you have charges with a felony, so if you are arrested, and then convicted of a felony, you have to report it. Just the arrest does not mean a conviction. Although they should have a seperate section on applications asking if you are a crackpot protester who will call in sick to march in the streets with the other wackos. But that is a seperate issue.
  • It depends on how the question is phrased. If they ask "have you ever been arrested ?" then you would need to answer honestly. But I would definitely put right there on the application that it was for protesting, so they don't immediately disregard you. If they asked "Have you ever been convicted of a felony" ? then you'd say no. However, more and more employers are now asking "Have you ever been convicted of a crime ?" which covers all the bases ! I'm a bit of a snot, so I would put it down as "practicing my legal right to civil protest." Of course, if it was all that civil, your friend probably wouldn't have gotten arrested, I suppose.
